As For your know, Y’S Men International will be the 100^th anniversary in 2022. The YMI has already initiated “Toward 2022” (TW22) Movement Goal, with lofty ideals and plan for the following 10 years. YMI will manipulate the historical intelligence of the past 90 years to challenge the performance goal of TW22. In this situation, I am uniting “Years bring wisdom” as our annual theme. We must make the best of the intelligence, asking God blessing wisdom like the King of Solomon.

However, only wisdom is not enough. We need to take real action strength also.  As I accumulate the intelligence received to guide in this action. Everybody think that it is necessary to add wisdom to take action to become life strength. That’s why I am using “Actions vitalize life with strength” as the slogan of 2012-2013. In accordance with spirit of the above, I will make great efforts to push our members to fulfill the following programs as a main annual target.

1.  Extension & Member Conservation (E & MC)
2. Community Service (CS)
3. Environment Protection Concept
4. Youth Involve Activity (YIA)
5. Participate in the International Convention in Stavanger Norway, 20129(IC)

1)      E & MC

“Extension & Member Conservation” is a very important part of YMI movement.  It is because achievement of activity will make our management continuously forever. In the meantime, To make our organization gets the new members constantly and collect new thinking with this era and the society trend.  Especially in the world trend is changing so fast, we require following the content below:

Extension:

We hope to keep a net growth of at least 9% to be our new member for each region. This figure is including new charter club and existing club of new join members and run off members. In order to reach the goal, we should encourage the members to invite friends to participate in the regular meeting and try to maintain half year at least. This is showing that our earnest of hope for them to join as our new member and have more opportunity to get identification.

Member Conservation:

In our experience, junior members (under 3 years) are run off more easily. It was caused by unidentified reasons. So we must pay more attention and care to the junior members. To make them feel as warm as in Y’sdom. This way is especially useful in Asian’s life style to prevent the members to run off

2) C.S.

“Community Service” Program is providing the chance for citizen & government more understanding to the organization of YMI. It is a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) also non-government organization(NGO), which is care about the necessity for the society. We also provide an suitable service to the community. It is based on our Y’s Men’s purpose, caring about the community to make more beautiful, encouraging the society to be more harmonious.

When we should carry out this activity, the participation, proposal and execution of staff of YMCA is a needed. This is a important cooperative to all members. By the community service through the Y’sdom, our club will gain identification.  Even another possibility to join our organization become enlarging the numbers of new member.

3) Environment protection concept:

The economy prosperousness, along with environment pollution is unavoidable from the fast-growing industry and business development. The increased concentration of waste gas, and carbon dioxide released from factories and vehicles, and the other pollutant have resulted in the breakage of ozone layer, and greenhouse effects. The global average temperature is increased by 0.5^oC in the last century. If no actions are taken in the countries of the world, the temperature will continue to rise and the climate model of the earth will change, resulting in the inconceivable consequences. 

Specialists warned that if the earth temperature is increased by 5^oC, tsunami and storms will be augmented. The sea level increase will cover all the cities on the coast and even causing the death or no reproduction of many living species.  To prevent from the disaster, Union had held a meeting for environmental developments on June 13^th of 1992. The “United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Chang (UNFCCC)” signed by 154 initially and updated 166 countries, was the declaration of global control to “Anthropogenic Greenhouse Gas” emission.  It became effective from March 21^st of 1994. In the meantime, in December of 1992, “Kyoto Protocol” was signed by many nations, hoping the “Anthropogenic Greenhouse Gas” concentration in the air can be limited within the range of not endangering the safety of nature. Carbon dioxide is the major greenhouse gas, 55% of all, causing the global warming in the earth. Thus the major controlling objective of “Kyoto Protocol” becomes carbon dioxide emission. YMI as a member of the global village, is supposed to share the reduction task in order to pay the duty of earth environment protection to the earth.

Also the keynote speak topic “A global challenge to future leaders - sustainable development”Our YMI base on take care of our planet, as well concern human living environment, We should practice, via our Y’s social movement, let majority citizen to be willing change and acceptance living style of low carbon energy consumption as environment protection concept.

4) YIA

“Youth involve activity”, Youth are the members which we are more respect. It is necessary to invest to this program. Let most of the youth to have an opportunity to know more about the meaning and participation in the YMI movement. Encourage the young members to recommend youngster to join us to become long term development foundation.

YEEP

In accordance with “Youth Educational Exchange Program”, the Y’s family can offer a platform to let the youth more realize the different national members, to study the cultural and to develop the friendship under the activities.

STEP

“Short Term Youth Exchange Program”, this movement is not only limited to Y’sling  to join, but also to encourage the other youngster to take part and more understanding about the meaning of Y’s Men.

Youth Club

According to IHQ 2004 survey, the average age of the member is 57.6. We have immediate needs to recruit young people to join us and to infuse new life and sustainability. 

5) Participate in 70^th International Convention in Stavanger Norway, 2012

  The 70^th International Convention will be held in Stavanger, Norway (2 – 5/Aug, 2012). The last International Convention has been held almost 20 years ago in Oslo, Norway, 1992. I hope that Asian members can participate enthusiastically to establish friendship with the members all over the world. It is a good chance to understanding the local living style and cultural differences of North Europe. At the same time, encourage the youth to join the activity of the international youth convocation (30.Jul-05.Aug). Moreover, it could make the young members more knowledge about YMI movement and become our successor in the future. It is a training our youth to have “Actions vitalize life with strength”.
