By Asia AP/Yaz Okano

Asia Area President 2013-2014

AP: Theme:  “Start Future Now”

AP: Slogan: “One Asia One World”

My fellow Y’s Men and Women, Families and Friends,

It is the greatest honor for me to be installed as your Asia Area President by the International President, Poul V. Thomsen at the 25th Asia Area Convention in Manila, Philippines on August 2nd 2013.

It is my duty to ensure our great Area of Asia to have another successful year and expand our great movement within and beyond the Asia Area.

My theme as Asia Area President is “Start Future Now”.

We have wonderful history as an international service organization for over 91 years and we will celebrate our Centennial Anniversary in the year 2022. In order to continue this wonderful legacy of service to our community world-wide, we must start our future right now by helping our young people and encourage young leaders in the world to work for the community with us.

My slogan as Asia Area President is “One Asia One World”.

We are member of a big family of Asia Area and a bigger family with our brothers, Korea Area. And we are one big unity of the whole Y’s Men’s Club International. Sometimes, we may have difficulties among us and spend so much time and effort to solve it. It may be difficult challenge for all of us, however, it is our duty to show the world that we are the solution of the problems, rather than be the part of the problem.

I am so proud to see so many delegates from Taiwan at the 25th Asia Area Convention at Manila, Philippines even at the most difficult time for you. I thank you all of Taiwanese Delegates for your support as well as other delegates from Regions.

So I humbly ask all of you to join us and “START FUTURE NOW” for “One Asia One World”

Yaz Okano
