WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2011

Mr Colin Lambie, Green Team Chairperson

YMCAs around the world are recognising the part they can play in creating a sustainable future. Many are taking some form of action on World Environment Day, Sunday 5 June 2011.

Some are organising tree planting, some are celebrating the reduction of use of fossil fuels by installing renewable energy systems, some are promoting how they are reducing their greenhouse gas footprint by using energy more efficiently.

Y Service Clubs can be more relevant to their YMCA by supporting them in their endeavour to manage rising energy costs and to reduce their carbon footprint. What is your YMCA doing to recognise World Environment Day?

Ask what your club is doing to help your YMCA and/or your community to achieve a sustainable world.
