QU'EST-CE QUE LE Y'S MEN'S INTERNATIONAL ?
L'Association Internationale des Y's Men Clubs est une communauté mondiale constituée de personnes de toutes confessions, solidaires de l'Union Chrétienne de Jeunes Gens (UCJG) et dont le travail commun se fonde sur l'ENSEIGNEMENT de JESUS-CHRIST ; et se réalise dans un climat de sympathie et de respect mutuel. Elle tente par un service actif de promouvoir, de développer et d'encourager une prise de responsabilité en vue de construire un monde meilleur pour tous.
WHAT IS Y'S MEN'S NTERNATIONAL ?
The International Association of Y's Men's Clubs is a worldwide felloship of persons of all faiths working together in mutual respect and affection, based on the TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST, and with a common loyalty to the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) , striving through active service to develop, encourage and provide leadership to build a better world for all mankind.
Y'S MEN'S ACTIVITIES
Alexander Scholarship Fund to support training of YMCA Staff persons. Named in honour of our founder, Judge Paul William Alexander. Every year, local clubs support training of YMCA Secretaries with about US$ 120,000. About US$12,000 (10% of the local support) is used to support leadership training programmes mainly in Africa, Latin America and India, but in recent years also in Easter/Central Europe.
ROLL BACK MALARIA
Roll Back Malaria is the global framework for coordinated action against malaria. Y’s Men International are working in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to deliver funds for the purchase of long lasting insecticide treated mosquito nets for distribution in high-burden areas.
REPOUSSER LE PALUDISME
Vaincre le Paludisme : est le cadre global pour l'action coordonnée contre cette maladie. Les hommes des Unions Chrétiennes (Y’s) travaillent en collaboration avec la Fédération Internationale de la Croix Rouge et du Croissant Rouge (IFRC) pour offrir des fonds destinés à l'achat des moustiquaires imprégnés durables afin de les rendre disponibles pour la distribution dans des endroits les plus exposés.
Time Of Fast
Time Of Fast. Money is raised through Y’s Men skipping a meal or two and paying what the meal would have cost into the TOF Programme. The funds thus contributed are used to support YMCA projects all over the world. The programme started about 20 years ago and shows a dramatic increase in contributions – and hence support to YMCAs.
Jeûner pour Offrir
Le temps du Jeûne. De l'argent est augmenté par les hommes des Unions Chrétiennes (Y’s Men) en sacrifiant un repas ou deux et en payant ce que le repas aurait coûté dans le programme TOF. Les fonds ainsi contribués sont employés pour soutenir des projets des Unions Chrétiennes partout dans le monde. Le programme a commencé il y a environ 20 ans et connaît une croissance rapide des contributions - et par conséquent plus d'appui aux UCJGs et Youths.
