Gambare Nippon!
Message from General Secretary of The National Council of YMCAs of Japan
9 August 2012
Dear Friends,
We would like to thank you for your contribution as well as your encouragement and valuable messages regarding the East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami which killed and left approximately 19 thousand people missing.
Moreover, a severe accident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station occurred. This was the first time we have experienced such a big disaster and it was challenging for us to support the people in need and the afflicted areas.
A report and update can be viewed at our website:
http://www.ymcajapan.org/eastjapanindex/index.html
You will find the link to our On-line Report Booklet, Video and Slide-show.
Our Relief and Rehabilitation work will continue focusing on children and youth of affected local area, Japan and the world. They are the people who work to revive the affected community and build supporting communities as Global Citizens.
We strongly ask for a continuous support from you and your community. We are still in need of a huge amount of support, which is the only way to make it possible for us to implement our work.
For further assistance for the donation, hard copy of the booklet and video, please contact Mr. Kazuki Yamane, director of Disaster Relief / International Relations.
Please forward this message to your members, donors, staffs and other supporters.
We thank you for all your support.

With best regards,
Shigeru Shimada
