TOF Project 21-08
“Support to Vulnerable Youth and Women in Job Training and Seed Capital after the Coronavirus Pandemic”
The wrap-up report for project TOF 21-08 has landed, and it’s filled with uplifting stories.
Spearheaded by the YMCA of Santiago and taking place in Cerro Navia—one of Santiago’s communities that truly benefits from extra support—this initiative received a huge boost from the Santiago Y’s Men’s Club.
At its heart, this project was all about inspiration and education. Young individuals and women were taught the ropes on how to launch their own home-based businesses. From March 2022, engaging workshops covered everything from the art of bread and pastry baking to the nuances of crafting and repairing metal structures, not to mention foundational lessons in setting up small businesses.
The highlight? A touching award ceremony held on 25 March 2023. The event was not just about celebrating accomplishments, but also about fueling dreams. Five standout participants were awarded seed capital of around CHF 510, helping them invest in materials and tools to kickstart their entrepreneurial journeys. Cheers to new beginnings and dreamers turned doers!
