Flood Relief in Thailand

In response to the severe flooding in Chiang Rai, Y’s Men International and the Asia Pacific Area, in collaboration with the YMCA, have been actively involved in relief and rebuilding efforts. The flood caused significant damage to the YMCA Day Care Centre, with many of the furniture, books, and shelves ruined, and mud reaching up to 45 cm in some areas. Despite these challenges, Y’s Men volunteers, alongside local organisations and individuals, have worked tirelessly to clear the debris and provide essential support to affected communities.

During his visit from 25-26 September, SMIT District Governor Dr Steve Boaz Kok presented certificates to volunteers and organisations involved in the relief efforts. He also visited flood victims, offering encouragement and distributing supplies with the help of local volunteers. YMI and YMCA continue to work hand in hand to bring much-needed relief to the region.
