Y’s Men Village Foundation Stone Laid

The Y’s Men movement in the Middle East Region took a significant step forward with the successful foundation stone laying ceremony for six houses at the Y’s Men Village in Karthikappally, India. The event, held with strong participation from local residents, Y’s Men leaders, panchayat and local government officials, church representatives, political party members, and the recipient families, was marked by unity, compassion, and a spirit of service.

The ceremony was led in prayer and dedication by five church priests, infusing the proceedings with a strong sense of divine blessing and community support.

A key moment in the project was made possible through the generous contribution of 1,400 m² (15,000 sq ft) of land by club member Mr Philip Varughese and his family, whose philanthropic gesture has made the dream of Y’s Men Village a reality. Their act of sharing has been widely recognised and deeply appreciated.

International President A. Shanavaskhan officially inaugurated the ceremony, lending further significance to the occasion. India Area President Mr V.S. Radhakrishnan, Area President Elect Mr Babu George, incoming Area President Elect Mr Mammen Oommen, and many other leaders were also present, offering their encouragement and support.

This initiative, spearheaded by District 3 (MER) in partnership with the Y’s Men’s Club of Jeddah and other clubs from the Middle East Region, is part of the broader “Home for the Homeless” project.

PRD Mr Jobi Joshua, who initiated the application for TOF funding, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all involved, acknowledging their dedication, prayers, and ongoing support.
